“Coming 2 America”

After multiple delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, “Coming 2 America” not only has a new release date…but also a brand new trailer! In the first teaser trailer before its March 2021 release, we get an official look at “Coming 2 America” and the gang is finally back together again—with a few new faces also joining the fun. Eddie Murphy is back as his character “Prince Akeem” in the highly-anticipated sequel 32 years in the making, as we get closer than ever to the release date for “Coming 2 America.” Amazon Prime just dropped the teaser trailer and by the looks of it, fans will definitely be very happy. The trailer kicks off with the voice of James Earl Jones, who plays Akeem’s father, saying “You must heed my words before I’m gone, my son. Now you will be king. But the throne must pass to a male heir. Akeem, it appears, you have a son. He must be found.” “Prince Akeem, now set to become king, discovers he has a son he never knew about, a street-savvy Queens native named Lavelle (played by Jermaine Fowler,) Honoring his father’s dying wish to groom his son as a newly crowned prince, Akeem must once again return to America.” Cast members include Shari Headley, John Amos, and the memorable barbershop crew. Meanwhile, there are also a host of new additions to the cast, such as Wesley Snipes, Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan, Bella Murphy, Rotimi, KiKi Layne, Nomzamo Mbatha, and Teyana Taylor. “Coming 2 America” will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on March 5, 2021, both in the U.S. and more than 240 countries worldwide. Amazon Studios revealed the release date in November along with officially announcing it had closed a deal with Paramount Pictures acquiring worldwide rights to the comedy.
