KIM KARDASHIAN: Impeachment Phone Call

Kim Kardashian made a surprise appearance during impeachment testimony. Also, rapper ASAP Rocky, got a shoutout, too.

Their names were mentioned in the written opening statement by David Holmes an ambassador’s aide. He claimed to be present when Ambassador Gordon Sondland made a cellphone call to President Donald Trump while they ate on a restaurant’s patio deck.

David Holmes overheard the ambassador talk to Trump about Ukraine. The conversation shifted to Sweden and the ambassador’s effort to release a jailed rapper. Ambassador Sondland told the President that ASAP Rocky was “kind of [effed] there.” He recommended that the President should “let him get sentenced, play the racism card, give him a ticker-tape when he comes home.”

Sondland also told Trump that Sweden “should have released him” once threats were made that sentencing Rocky would harm the U.S.-Swedish relationship. Even though the intimidation didn’t seem to work (quote) “You can tell Kim Kardashian you tried.” (CBS News)
