TAYLOR SWIFT: Polarizing Pop Nation

Written by on July 1, 2019

Taylor Swift and Scooter Braun are two of the biggest names in music. Only on opposite sides of the microphone.

Her beef with Scooter has caused a chasm in pop nation. His clients including Justin Bieber and Demi Lovato have come to his defense. Demi posted to Instagram Story that Scooter is not the bad guy that Taylor described.

Justin took a step further to apologize for bullying Taylor (quote) “I thought it was funny but looking back it was distasteful and insensitive.” Justin suggested that Scooter was willing to resolve the conflict despite her manipulative post (quote) “What were you trying to accomplish? Seems to me like it was to get sympathy. You also knew that in posting that your fans would go & bully Scooter”

Ariana Grande stayed out of the fray – so far.

Taylor retweeted support from Halsey (quote) “She deserves to own the painstaking labor of her heart. She has surpassed all expectations of what any artist is even capable of. She catapulted her stardom into the Milky Way.”

Several singers simply unfollowed Scooter’s Instagram account. They included Taylor’s BFF Selena Gomez and surprisingly Ariana’s bestie Nicki Minaj. Also Rihanna, Miley Cyrus and Billie Eilish have stopped following Scooter in solidarity with Taylor.

Taylor’s co-writer Jack Antonoff added his two cents, as did Charlie Puth. Cara Delevingne is on Team Taylor and told Justin Bieber it was shameful because as a married man he “should be lifting women up.” (The Hollywood Reporter)
