The Camp Flog Gnaw audience may not have loved him, but Drake doesn’t seem too bothered by the fact that he was booed off the stage Sunday night.

The rapper appeared at the Los Angeles music festival curated by Tyler, The Creator over the weekend as the surprise headliner. NSFW videos shared by fans reveal they began booing at one point, apparently disappointed that the mystery performer wasn’t someone else.

“Like I said, I’m here for you tonight. If you want to keep going, I will keep going tonight,” Drake said Sunday night, met with a negative reaction from the crowd. “Alright, it’s been love. I love y’all. I go by the name of Drake, thank you for having me,” he added before walking backstage.

Audience members soon after began chanting, “We want Frank,” referring to singer/rapper Frank Ocean, whom some fans on social media had been hoping would make an appearance instead.

But Drake kept things light in his first social media post since the ordeal, joking the negative response has only fueled his desire to continue performing at his friend’s festival.

“Plot twist…just signed a 10 year residency at Camp Flog Gnaw,” he captioned a series of photos from the appearance. “sorry kids see you EVERY SINGLE YEAR till you are 30”

Tyler, The Creator slammed the audience’s response as “mob mentality and cancel culture in real life,” claiming most of the fans were enjoying themselves but some people in the front of the crowd made the festival look “SOOO ENTITLED AND TRASH.”

“I THOUGHT BRINGING ONE OF THE BIGGEST ARTIST ON THE (expletive) PLANET TO A MUSIC FESTIVAL WAS FIRE!” he continued. “BUT FLIPSIDE, A LIL TONE DEAF KNOWING THE SPECIFIC CROWD IT DREW. SOME CREATED A NARRATIVE IN THEIR HEAD AND ACTED OUT LIKE (expletive) WHEN IT DIDNT COME TRUE AND I DONT (expletive) WITH THAT”

He repeatedly thanked Drake for showing up and performing, joking that he was angry he missed out on hearing “Hotline Bling,” the next song on the setlist after the rapper left the stage.

“BUT HEY MAN (expletive) HAPPENS,” he concluded. “ALL JOKES ASIDE (expletive) LOWKEY FUNNY HAHAHA, ASIDE FROM THAT, HOPE EVERYONE HAD A GOOD TIME. AGAIN, NO ARREST NO (expletive) MAN A LOT OF PEOPLE ENJOYED IT, THANKS AGAIN!”
