KANYE WEST: Netflix Acquires Documentary

Netflix acquired a Kanye West documentary for $30 million.

The untitled movie, which will debut in 2021, contains “never-before-seen home movie footage spread out over 20 years.”

Two music video directors are behind the project: Coodie Simmons and Chike [pr: CHEE-kuh] Ozah. They go back from the early Chicago days of Kanye. They directed the music video for “Through the Wire.” Coodie & Chike have more than two-decades worth of material.

Topics to be covered in the Kanye documentary include his mother’s surprise death, a failed run for the White House, his evolution to billionaire fashion mogul and divorcing Kim Kardashian. (Billboard)
