Angelina Jolie returns five years later on more than 3,700 screens for the Maleficent sequel. The dark fantasy film is projected to make around $45 million this weekend.

Another sequel, Zombieland: Double Tap, features the original cast: Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg and Abigail Breslin. Double Tap is predicted to earn $25 million or more.

Joker is expected to place second, slightly ahead of Double Tap. (Box Office Mojo)
