SELENA GOMEZ: “Social Media Has Been Terrible”

Because Selena Gomez has more than 155 million Instagram followers, she knows the devastating effects of social media bullies.
Wednesday at the Cannes [pr: CAN] Film Festival, Selena urged her generation to uninstall Instagram if they’re feeling overwhelmed.
She said, (quote) “Social media has been terrible. It scares me how exposed young girls and boys are. I’ll see them at meet-and-greets. They’re just devastated by bullying.”
Selena unplugged from Instagram late last year. She didn’t post for three-straight months. She returned in January. She explained, (quote) “I don’t do a lot of pointless pictures. Allow yourself time limits of when you should use it.” (The Guardian)
