“I’m Trying Yall”

The BET Awards is one of the biggest nights in Hip Hop and has been for the last fifty years. Last night’s celebration included a tribute to the late Tina Turner, Queen of Rock. Patti LaBelle took to the stage in a black shimmer and fringe dress and sang a lively rendition of ‘The Best’, a Tina Turner classic. Mid-performance, there was an unexpected issue with the teleprompter feeding the lyrics. “I’m trying y’all,” she told the studio audience as she briefly improvised. A beautiful tribute was performed nonetheless.
