Gina Rodriguez has issued an apology for dropping the N-word in a recent Instagram Story.

“Hey what’s up everybody, I just wanted to reach out and apologize. I’m sorry,” she said in a subsequent story. “I’m sorry if I offended anyone by singing along to The Fugees, to a song I love, that I grew up on. I love Lauryn Hill, and I’m really sorry if I offended you.”

The 35-year-old actress got all the smoke Tuesday, after she shared a video in which she was singing along to Lauryn Hill’s verse on The Fugees’ “Ready or Not.”

“Voodoo; I can do what you do, easy,” Gina recites in the video. “Believe me, fronting n***as give me heebie-jeebies.”

Many expressed their dislike of the incident, and some even shared some kind words and examples of how to sing along with your favorite song without using the N-Word.
