From The Stage To The Big Screen

As Beyonce and her team conclude the Renessaince World Tour, they revealed a documentary coming to theaters in December. In a short clip posted to Instagram Beyonce can be heard saying “When I am performing, I am nothing but free”, and “My goal for this tour was to create a place where everyone is free and no one is judged.” Renaissance: A Film By Beyonce, the trailer teases behind-the-scenes footage, showing Beyoncé rehearsing with her eldest daughter, Blue Ivy, 11, who has been dancing on the tour, as well as interactions with her husband Jay-Z and their twins Rumi and Sir, along with dancers and other personnel.

In 2019 Beyonce’s documentary debuted as a Netflix special. ‘Homecoming’ was based on her 2018 Coachella performance, rehearsals, and behind-the-scenes, some intimate, footage. It is expected the upcoming film will be similar as it is based on the World Tour. The Renaissance film will be distributed directly via the AMC Theatres cinema chain in the US, bypassing traditional distributors.
