BRITNEY SPEARS: Fails to Oust Father

Britney Spears learned from the judge that the conservatorship will go unchanged. Her father retains power over her finances while the temporary conservator, Jodi Montgomery, remains in that role.

Britney had a surprise supporter on Wednesday at the Los Angeles courthouse. The #FreeBritney crowd welcomed her ex-husband. Not that one. The other ex-husband, Jason Alexander, who traveled from Nashville to lend support. They texted the night before.

Jason knew Britney before her mental health issues emerged. He said outside the courthouse, (quote) “I wanna see Britney get what she rightly deserves. From pretty regular conversations, she doesn’t want to be under the conservatorship. It’s negatively affecting her life. It’s time for it to be over.”

At the height of Britney’s fame, she eloped in Las Vegas with her childhood friend. Within three days, her parents forced an annulment. (E! News)
