A church service in Pennsylvania came to a terrifying end on Sunday when a man approached the pastor while he was delivering a sermon and pointed a gun right at him.
The incident, which was broadcast on the church’s livestream, occurred at Jesus’ Dwelling Place Church in North Braddock, Pennsylvania. A man, later identified as 26-year-old Bernard Polite, stood up and approached Pastor Glenn Germany. He pointed a gun right at him but never got a shot off as the gun apparently jammed. Pastor Germany ducked behind a lectern as another congregant grabbed the gunman and wrestled away the gun. Polite told police he tried to shoot the pastor because “God told him to do it.”
Later in the day, police found the body of a man shot to death inside of Polite’s home. Police have identified the victim as 56-year-old Derek Polite. They have not yet confirmed whether he was a family member. (WTAE-TV)
