Despite a season hated by fans and critics alike, Game of Thrones was named Best Show at Monday’s MTV Movie & TV Awards.
Not surprisingly the blockbuster Avengers: Endgame won in the Best Movie category. The superhero flick also walked away with the awards for best hero, Robert Downey Junior (Tony Stark/Iron Man), and best villain, Josh Brolin (Thanos).
The main acting awards went to Lady Gaga for A Star Is Born and Elisabeth Moss for The Handmaid’s Tale.
Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was named Best Real-Life Hero for the documentary RBG.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson received the Icon Generation Award.
Performers included Lizzo, who did her hit “Juice.”
The show got off to a bumpy start when host Zachary Levi made a Kim Kardashian sex tape joke — prompting Ray J‘s wife Princess Love to flip off the camera.
In another controversial moment, reality star Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio crashed the stage after Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta won the Reality Royaltyaward and gave his own acceptance speech — even though his show, The Challenge, lost in the category. Johnnywas removed from the stage, giving the cast of Love & Hip Hop a chance to accept the award.
