LADY GAGA: “The Only Real Star at the Moment”

Elton John wrote a deeply personal autobiography where he name-drops a million celebrities he partied with.

The juiciest gossip goes back decades to his cocaine and booze days. Then at age 43, Elton entered rehab and for the first time learned to operate a washing machine. Since becoming sober, and attending 12-step meetings, Elton became the AA sponsor to Eminem.

Elton asked Lady Gaga to be the godmother to his child. He said (quote) “The only real star at the moment is Lady Gaga. She could have a career like Barbra Streisand if she wanted to. She’s got the ambition. She’s got the talent coming out of every pore of her body.”

Elton has thoughts about Disney’s remake of The Lion King. He hates it. He called it a “huge disappointment” and blamed them for messing up his music (quote) “The magic and joy were lost. The creative vision for the film and its music was different this time around. I wasn’t really welcomed with the same level of respect.” (GQ)
