CARDI B: Doubles Down on Lawsuit

Written by on June 27, 2019

Cardi B has upped the ante in her suit against former manager Klenord “Shaft” Raphael.

She amended her mismanagement suit and is now seeking $10 million in compensatory damages and $20 million in punitive damages — twice her initial ask. In the suit, Bardi alleges Shaft failed to fulfill “fiduciary duties” and took advantage of her “trust and naiveté [to] persuade her to sign contracts and enter into deals where he tried to take an unreasonable and unconscionable portion of her earnings in the entertainment industry for himself.”

She canned him over a year ago and shifted over to Quality Control’s management division, Solid Foundation. That’s when he sued her for $10 million for breach of contract and defamation, leading to this countersuit. (The Blast)
