Is Kodak’s Career Over?

On Wednesday, Kodak Black, legal name Bill K. Kapri, was sentenced to 46 months in prison. The 22-year-old rapper sentencing is due to the rapper knowingly making false statements to unlawfully purchase a gun.
In January, he admitted to lying about his criminal history when he filled out a Firearms Transaction Record. He also provided an inaccurate social security number during that time to purchase the firearms. Those guns purchased were later discovered at crime scenes. One of the guns were reportedly used in an attack against a rival of Kodak. His fingerprints were found on the gun which had a live round in the chamber; however, he was not charged in that shooting. Kodak also attempted to buy more weapons in March. Once again, he provided false information about his criminal record but entered his correct social security number which caused him to fail the background check.
According to the Miami Herald, Kodak is considered a “habitual violent offender”, which indicates the new felony charges each carries a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison.
