As expected, the Jurassic World franchise came out of hibernation to rule the box office this past weekend, with Jurassic World: Dominion raking in $143 million in its first week of release.

While forecasters actually expected the film to earn $160 million, but the showing was good enough to bump Tom Cruise‘s smash Top Gun: Maverick to the number-two spot on $50 million in ticket sales. Maverick has jetted past the $393 million mark in total earnings in its three weeks of release.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hangs around aggressively enough to take the third box office spot with $4.9 million in earnings. The Marvel production has now earned a total of $397 million in six weeks of release.

The Bob’s Burgers Movie brought in $2.3 million, bringing its total haul to $27.1 million, while The Bad Guys, which was released nearly two months ago, hangs tough at number-five with $2.2 million in sales, upping its overall take to $91.5 million. (Hollywood Reporter)
