The Expendables will take on the box office after a decade-long hiatus. Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture and 77-year-old Sylvester Stallone return for the fourth film of the action franchise. Joining them are Megan Fox, Andy Garcia and 50 Cent.
Box office revenue for the R-rated Expendables 4 (aka Expend4bles) will be around $15 million this weekend. (Deadline)
That pales in comparison to Taylor Swift’s concert film arriving on October 13. Advance ticket sales exceed $65 million. Opening weekend projections range from $85 million to as high as $150 million. Even the lowest prediction will shatter the record for a concert film. Taylor made the The Eras Tour movie during the Hollywood strikes. The SAG-AFTRA actors union give her special permission, which extends to promoting the movie’s release in three weeks. (Deadline)
