During the 2021 Astroworld concert, 10 people were killed when an over-capacity crowd surged towards the stage. The cause of death was listed as compression asphyxia. Scott, who has faced criticism for continuing the performance, said he was “overly devastated” by the Astroworld festival tragedy.
Travis Scott and concert promoter Live Nation settled several Astroworld wrongful death lawsuits. The terms are confidential.
The lawyers for Live Nation informed the judge on Wednesday that they came to agreement in nine suits. One of those cases, filed by the family of 23-year-old Madison Dubiski, was scheduled to go to trial this week. Madison was among the 10 people crushed and killed in the stampede.
The remaining wrongful death lawsuit belongs to the family of a 9-year-old girl. Attorneys in that suit will meet next week to determine when that case goes to trial. (ABC News)
