An assault charge against a 10-year-old boy who injured a fellow classmate in a dodgeball game has been dismissed by a Michigan prosecutor.
Last week, Cameishi Triplett Lindley announced in a Facebook fundraising post that her son, Bryce, had been charged with aggravated assault relating to the April 29th incident that also resulted in him being suspended from Eriksson Elementary School in Canton Township, Michigan.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym L. Worthy said in a statement Wednesday that the charges are being dropped, although it is “certainly sustainable.”
Worthy added, “I have no doubt that both families involved love their children and want the best for them. But I do think that there is a better way to go forward at this time. It is my earnest hope that both sides will come back to the table to work out a solution that benefits both of these children.” (NBC News)
