Tory Lanez was hit with assault and weapons charges on Thursday afternoon related to the shooting of Megan Thee Stallion.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney announced the rapper, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, is facing felony counts for assault with a semiautomatic firearm, carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm and an unregistered firearm in a vehicle. He’s also alleged to have “personally inflicted great bodily injury.”

If convicted, he could face up to 22 years and eight months behind bars. Lanez was arrested on July 12th, the night where he allegedly shot Meganin the foot after an argument following a house party at Kylie Jenner‘s place. A Florida-based attorney who represents Lanez, Jim Lewis, told Vulture, “The ‘victim’ doesn’t appear to be seriously injured, since I saw her on Saturday Night Live last week.”
Lanez is set to be arraigned on October 13th. (NBC News)
