BILL COSBY: Appeals Sex Assault Conviction

Bill Cosby filed a 350-page appeal to his 2018 conviction.
The disgraced actor and comedian will serve up to 10 years in prison for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand. The 81-year-old had settled a civil suit in 2006 by paying Constand nearly $3.4 million.
In the wake of the #MeToo movement, a district attorney reopened the case. Cosby’s civil deposition testimony was used against him last year at trial. He admitted to doping women with a powerful sedative called Quaaludes. A jury convicted Cosby of all counts and declared him to be a “sexually violent predator.”
On Tuesday, Cosby’s legal team filed an appeal claiming testimony from five women should never have been allowed in trial. His legal team also disagreed with the jury’s conviction, which they said was “not based on any credible evidence.” (New York Post)
