World Cancer Day.

Actor Shannon Doherty revealed today that she has stage 4 cancer. Shannon appeared on the Good Morning America show and revealed that her cancer had returned. February 4th is World Cancer Day. World Cancer Day aims to save millions of preventable deaths each year by raising awareness and education about cancer and pressing governments and individuals across the world to take action against the disease. World Cancer Day is the ideal opportunity to spread the word and raise the profile of cancer in people’s minds and in the world’s media. Why is World Cancer Day Important?
Currently, 8.2 million people die from cancer worldwide every year, out of which 4 million die prematurely (aged 30 to 69 years). There are around 280,000 new cases of pancreatic cancer each year and it is the 7th biggest cancer killer. As a cancer survivor, I would like to say to Shannon and all that have been affected by cancer, “that its not a death sentence but a life-changing experience, and you will never fight alone.”
