Tupac Shakur Will Be Honored With A Street Named After Him

The city council of Oakland, California, has unanimously voted to rename a stretch of MacArthur Boulevard to “Tupac Shakur Way” in honor of the late rapper. Tupac Shakur, who was originally born in Harlem and lived in other locations such as Baltimore, credited Oakland for his successful career. This move is part of Oakland’s tradition of honoring individuals who have made significant contributions to society. The rapper was only 25 years old when he was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas in 1996.
