Martin Lawrence Shares Update On Jamie Foxx’s Health

Martin Lawrence made a statement to Extra during his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony on Thursday about his friend Jamie Foxx, who has been hospitalized in Georgia since April 11 due to a “medical complication.” Lawrence shared his prayers for Foxx, saying he is “one of the best that we got in Hollywood, not only one of the best entertainers but a good person.” According to a recent report, Foxx is steadily improving. Foxx was in Georgia to film Netflix’s Back in Action and filming has resumed on the set with Cameron Diaz and Glenn Close.

On April 12, Foxx’s daughter Corinne released a statement on behalf of the family, saying that her father’s health emergency was due to “a medical complication” and they asked for privacy during this time.

“We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday,” she wrote. “Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”
