One thing about Jaden Smith, he is always in his philanthropy bag. About two years ago, on his 21st birthday, Jaden launched a food truck initiative called ‘I Love You.’ According to Complex, his goal was to provide free “healthy, vegan food” to people staying in the “Los Angeles’ Skid Row area.” Now, the musician and actor is expanding his initial idea to include a restaurant that feeds the homeless for free.
“Our mission is to spread love to communities experiencing food and/or housing insecurity by offering water along with fresh, high-quality, and delicious sustainable meal options,” said a statement on the restaurant’s official site. “It’s for homeless people to get free food,” Jaden told Variety. “But if you’re not homeless, not only do you have to pay, but you have to pay for more than the food’s worth so that you can pay for the person behind you.” “I see this as one, of many, steps towards creating change in our world,” Jaden wrote on his restaurant’s official site. Jaden seems to be a believer in small steps leading to big changes.
