Tina Turner’s $55 Barbie Doll Reportedly Sells Out Entirely In Just One Day

Written by on October 18, 2022

Tina Turner’s star power hasn’t died down one bit. According to reports, Mattel Creations, the toy firm behind the ever-so-popular Barbie doll, completely sold out of the Tina Turner doll just one day after its release last week. Mattel had announced that in honor of the singer’s hit song “What’s Love Got To Do With It” celebrating its 40th anniversary, they would release a Barbie doll in her likeness as part of their Barbie Signature Music Series.

The doll itself sees Turner wearing her signature spiky hairstyle from the 1984 music video, along with a black mini dress that’s paired with a denim jacket and accompanied by a pair of white earrings and a silver necklace as she holds onto a microphone. According to Newsweek, the release proved to be extremely popular with Mattel’s consumers, many of which struggled to purchase the $55 doll because it had sold out shortly after its release.
