Johnny Depp’s Lawyer Alludes To His Client Not Wanting To Take $10 Million From Ex-Wife Amber Heard

Johnny Depp‘s lawyers, Camille Vasquez and Benjamin Chew, sat down for an interview on Good Morning America, exactly one week after winning their client’s defamation case against his ex-wife Amber Heard. On Wednesday, Benjamin and Camille spoke out in one of their first televised interviews since the jury’s verdict was read, with Johnny being awarded $15 million — $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive. But because the state law only permits up to $350,000 in punitive damages, the total amount was reduced to $10.35 million. With that said, it seems as if the Hollywood star may not be pursuing Amber for the hefty sum after all.
After being quizzed about Amber allegedly having reached a financial struggle to pay the judgment, Benjamin expressed that the court case was never about winning millions if the jury were to side with him in the trial. “We obviously can’t disclose attorney-client communications, but as Mr. Depp testified, this was never about money for Mr. Depp,” he said. “This was about restoring his reputation — and he’s done that.”
