After KFC aired their latest commercial called “Piano,” showing multiple people licking their fingers while eating in public places, the Advertising Standards Authority received 163 complaints from viewers. Apparently, many people found the ad “irresponsible” because it potentially “encourages behavior that might increase the chances of coronavirus spreading,” according to Fox News. The food company is aware of these complaints and decided to make some temporary changes. Not only did KFC quickly ended the campaign, but The New York Post reports that they’re suspending the iconic “finger lickin” good’ slogan amid coronavirus fears. A spokesperson for KFC told the outlet, “It doesn’t feel like the right time to be airing this campaign, so we’ve decided to pause it for now -– but we’re really proud of it and look forward to bringing it back at a later date.”
