Major Explosion In Baltimore

According to breaking reports, an explosion occurred in Baltimore this morning, leaving one dead, 2 injured, and with many victims still trapped inside. Baltimore City fire officials responded to a gas explosion in the area of the 6500 block of Reisterstown Road, near Labyrinth Road. Officials explained that the explosion involved three homes. So far, two people have been recovered from the scene but in said to be in serious condition; with one taken to Shock Trauma and the other to Sinai Hospital. Sadly, one woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Fire officials told the news site that they are searching for at least two others. Baltimore Police are asking people to avoid the Reisterstown Road corridor where it intersects with Labyrinth Road. Fox reports that the gas lines in the area have been shut off, however, electrical lines are still active. James E. Bentley, the Baltimore City Mayor’s spokesman, spoke with CNN and he is aware of the reports and was headed into a meeting about the situation. As of right now, it is unclear what caused the explosion. Details on the victims have also not been shared. We will continue to keep you updated when more details have been released.
