It will take approximately 18 months for the Coronavirus vaccine to be ready to help prevent infection as reported by the World Health Organization.
According to the New York Post, The WHO made an announcement earlier today regarding the new vaccine saying it should be ready within a year and six months. “The development of vaccines and therapeutics is one important part of the research agenda. But it’s not only one part, WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said. However, countries would have to continue following health protocols until the vaccine is ready to be administered to the public. Apparently, testing for the vaccine will begin in April as told by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci. Currently, the death toll from the virus is 1,000 and there are over 40,000 confirmed cases in China. “With 99 percent of cases in China, this remains very much an emergency for that country, but one that holds a very grave threat for the rest of the world.”
