Written by on October 29, 2020

Whitney Houston is and will forever be the GOAT! According to Sony Music, she is the first Black recording artist to have three RIAA Diamond-certified albums, since her second studio album, “Whitney,” has been certified 10x platinum. The 1987 album produced five Billboard Top 10 singles and the first four–”I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me),” “Didn’t We Almost Have It All,” “So Emotional,” and “Where Do Broken Hearts Go” all charting as No. 1. This also makes her the first recording artist ever with four consecutive Hot 100 No. 1’s, Billboard reports. Michael Jackson, 2Pac and Mariah Carey all have two Diamond albums. With Prince & the Revolution, Boyz II Men, TLC, The Notorious B.I.G., OutKast, Hammer, Lionel Richie, Nelly, Stevie Wonder and Usher having one. On November 7th, Whitney Houston will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame during the 35th annual induction ceremony, airing on HBO and HBO at 8 p.m. ET. The official biopic “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” will be in theaters Thanksgiving Day 2022.
