SELENA GOMEZ: Kidney Tattoo Revealed

Selena Gomez released her third solo and showed a tattoo that honors her kidney transplant.

Over the weekend, Selena Instagrammed a still shot from her “Rare” music video. On her right upper arm, Selena tattooed the date of her organ transplant in 2017. She said of the new ink (quote) “I actually got the date of when I got my kidney transplant. I did that with the girl that gave me her kidney.” (People)

“The girl” is her friend, Francia Raísa. They’ve had a difficult couple of years since the transplant. Francia became outraged because Selena made “unhealthy choices” including booze on her one good kidney (Radar Online)

Then this fall, they reconnected over social media and seemingly mended fences. Selena said they got the matching tattoos in December.
