Singer Jason Derulo has partnered up with his “Haitian brother” and Florida rapper Kodak Black as they promise to give us the “song of the summer” with their new collaborative effort called “Slidin’.”
While the collab might not have been on ur bingo cards this year, the unlikely link-up is a bop! The song officially dropped on Thursday night (May 19), and the internet has been feeling the new song.
Jason offers up his usual formula on the track, including a melodic beat and catchy lyrics to quickly get people up out of their seats and on their feet headed to the dance floor.
Kodak, fresh off of his feature on the Kendrick Lamar track “Silent Hill,” actually slid pretty smoothly on the pop beat.
In addition to the upbeat tempo, the song arrives with a TikTok dance to accompany it — which is somewhat the norm now to boost streaming numbers and create an impact on all the music charts.
