The star was honored as Best Actor for his role in “King Richard,” — the film that followed the life of Richard Williams who is the father of tennis superstars Serena and Venus Williams.

While speaking with The Blast correspondent Ty Cole on the red carpet, the award-winning entertainer looked back on his great work and shared which film he thinks deserved an Oscar nomination for “Best Movie” as he feels it was his “best film” he’s ever played in: “I thought ‘Pursuit Of Happyness’ was the best movie I ever made,” the actor told reporter Cole. “The reaction that King Richard is getting is what I thought ‘Pursuit of Happyness’ was going to receive. Something happened with this film that is very unique and I never experienced this blanket level of appreciation for a movie.”

To note, Smith was nominated for Best Actor for the film but the award ended up going to Forest Whitaker for The Last King Of Scotland.

The Academy Awards is set for March 27th on ABC Networks. Will Smith is up for two awards Best Actor and Best Picture!
