STUCK AT HOME: Comeback for Walkie-Talkies
Written by KingCnote on April 15, 2020
Some families have turned to the walkie-talkie to communicate at home.
The wireless push-to-talk devices, which date back to World War 2, do not tax your already overwhelmed Wi-Fi. Rather than texting, couples at opposite ends of the house, or different floors, reach for the walkie-talkie.
A work from home father said (quote) “I am trying to juggle life and work and save businesses and save my family’s health. We are finding a new way to communicate.”
Roommates download the walkie-talkie app so that they can chat. Texting could be considered easier, yet these days of social distancing people crave a conversation. The walkie-talkie is faster than launching a FaceTime or Zoom session. (The Wall Street Journal)
