Social Media Praises Tyler Perry For Offering His Home And Security To Meghan Markle & Prince Harry

During Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s revelatory interview with Oprah Winfrey, the two revealed that Tyler Perry stepped in to help them after they were left without security or a plan following their big decision to leave their royal duties. While speaking with Winfrey about their subsequent move to Canada, and then to the United States, where they eventually settled down in California, they shared that the billionaire filmmaker offered them the use of one of his homes and his security. Perry made the offer after Harry and Meghan learned while they were in Canada that they would not have their security team anymore — a decision that was made by the royal family because their status had changed. “While we were in Canada, in someone else’s house, I then got told, short notice, that security was going to be removed,” he recalled, adding that, because of tabloids, his and his wife’s exact location was known. “So suddenly it dawned on me: ‘Hang on, the borders could be closed, we’re going to have our security removed, who knows how long lockdown is going to be, the world knows where we are, it’s not safe, it’s not secure, we probably need to get out of here.” Meghan then told Winfrey they didn’t have a plan and “needed a house” – at which point, Perry stepped in. “We didn’t have a plan and we needed a house and he offered security as well so it gave us breathing room to try to figure out what we were going to do.” Many viewers took to social media to applaud Perry for offering help to the couple during their moment of vulnerability.
