SIMON COWELL: Medical Leave of Absence

Simon Cowell kept his sense of humor following a horrific accident on his new bicycle.

Sunday evening, Simon tweeted, (quote) “Some good advice… If you buy an electric trail bike, read the manual before you ride it for the first time. I have broken part of my back.”

The America’s Got Talent judge was hospitalized on Saturday and underwent a five-hour surgery to repair his broken back. Surgeons reportedly fused several vertebrae and implanted a metal rod to support his spine. (Deadline)

The three other judges wished Simon well during weekend rehearsals. America’s Got Talent goes live this week. The judges posted a photo from the outdoor set at Universal Studios with all three pointing to Simon’s empty chair. (The Wrap)
