SIA: Rare Neurological Disease

Sia tweeted Sunday night that she’s “taking time off to do intensive therapy on Complex PTSD [Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder].”

The 43-year-old’s medical condition sounds pretty serious. Sia has a neurological disease causing chronic pain, two herniated discs, hypothyroidism and a rare disease called Ehlers-Danlos.

Ehlers-Danlos weakens blood vessels, loosens joints and makes your skin very thin. The silver lining, according to Sia, (quote) “Turns out my bipolar 2 diagnosis was wrong. And no STDs, which frankly, is miraculous given my twenties.” (New York Post)
