R. Kelly has been charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse in Cook County, Illinois.

Prosecutors there plan to sign off on a warrant for the singer’s arrest this afternoon (Friday). A week ago, a grand jury convened to investigate a sex tape submitted by lawyer Michael Avenatti. Two women testified before the grand jury, and according to TMZ as many as a dozen women came forward to testify.

Kells’ first court date is scheduled for March 8th. State’s Attorney Kim Foxx will formally announce the charges against Kelly today at 2 p.m. [CT]. (Chicago Sun-Times)
