LIL NAS X: Snubbed at BET Nominations

Pride got off on the wrong foot for Lil Nas X.

BET Awards snubbed Lil Nas X when handing out nominations. He tweeted and then deleted his snark, (quote) “Thank you BET awards. An outstanding ZERO nominations again. Black Excellence!”

Lil Nas X expressed frustration with “fighting to be seen in this world as a gay Black artist.” He’s felt marginalized and the BET Awards won’t recognize him, either.

The Gammy Awards nominated Montero as Album of the Year. Two hit songs, “Industry Baby” and “Montero Call Me By Your Name,” topped the Billboard charts. Still, Lil Nas X is feeling unaccepted by BET. (Billboard)
