HARVEY WEINSTEIN: Victims Settle for $44 million

Hollywood exec Harvey Weinstein – the #MeToo poster creep — settled several lawsuits from women who accused him of sexual misconduct.

They initially demanded $90 million. That deal fell through and on Thursday Weinstein agreed to a $44 million deal. Insurance policies will pay $30 million to Weinstein’s victims. The rest will cover legal fees.

These were civil lawsuits. In New York, Weinstein still faces criminal charges brought by two women. One accused him of raping her in his hotel and the other described a “forcible sex act.” (The Wall Street Journal)
