DOUBLE-MASKING: Dr. Fauci Says It Makes “Common Sense”

Written by on January 26, 2021

Dr. Fauci says that wearing two masks is better than one. When asked whether the practice of double-masking offers more protection, the White House advisor said “it likely does,” during an interview on the Today show on Monday.

Fauci said, “So if you have a physical covering with one layer, you put another layer on, it just makes common sense that it likely would be more effective. That’s the reason why you see people either double masking or doing a version of an N95.”

The CDC has yet to recommend double masking, but the practice is gaining in popularity after poet Amanda Gorman and transportation secretary nominee Pete Buttigieg were seen wearing double masks at Joe Biden‘s inauguration. (CNBC)
