DEMI LOVATO: Shocking Revelations

Written by on March 24, 2021

More than 1 million followers have viewed the first two episodes of the Demi Lovato documentary, Dancing With the Devil. The first 20 minutes are dedicated to Demi’s relapse in 2018. Her team watched her drink for the first time in six years. They never knew she picked up hard drugs, too. She smoked heroin and cocaine. Mixed booze and pills with marijuana and crack.

The second segment offers a tick-tock of the day she nearly died, July 24th. After celebrating her choreographer’s birthday, Demi called her dealer (and friend with benefits) at 5 in the morning. He came over, fed her large quantities of drugs, sexually assaulted her and then “left her for dead” at 8. Demi’s personal assistant discovered her unconscious body at 11:30 a.m.

That assistant secretly called 911. Demi’s so-called friends tried to avoid making a scene. They asked for the ambulance to arrive without sirens.

Doctors immediately went to work filtering the deadly toxins from her blood. A tube drained blood from Demi’s neck into a dialysis machine. She suffered three strokes and a heart attack. There remains brain damage, including blind spots.

There’s an emotional moment in the documentary when Demi reflects on the irony of being legally blind. Six years earlier, her mom threatened Demi with getting clean or never seeing her sister again. Madison was at Demi’s bedside when she woke in the hospital. But Demi had to ask who was there because she literally could not see her sister.

The third episode of the docu-series arrives next week, March 30th. In the fourth and final part, Demi explains with a flair for drama, (quote) “This is a powerful disease. I’m not pretending like I’m invincible. You can’t change someone’s mind who thinks that I’m a junkie. I will always be one.” (The Wrap)
