National Guard spokeswoman Lt. Col. Brooke Davis said yesterday that Washington D.CNational Guard have tested positive for COVID-19 after being deployed to respond to protestors. It is known that 1,300 members of the National Guard were deployed to help police ease tension with protestors and some of those members are infected by the coronavirus. For operational security, Davis did not provide the number of positive cases. She said those who have tested positive will be quarantined and be prevented from being deployed until they have fully recovered. Also, prior to their deployment, all members were tested before going out in the streets to interact with police and protestors. Throughout the country, protesters are encouraged to get tested and remain in quarantine for at least two weeks to prevent infection and increased cases of the disease. They are also asked to wear masks and practice social distancing during protests as told by the World Health Organization.
