Bill Cosby’s wife Camille has given her first interview in six years.
The 76-year-old spoke to ABC News on Wednesday, a day after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court agreed to review two aspects of his sexual assault case.
Camillesaid she’s “very, very pleased” with the appeals court’s decision — and suggested the #MeToo movement is rooted in racism.
She said she doesn’t care about the feelings of her husband’s many accusers, and that “the #MeToo movement and movements like them have intentional ignorance pertaining to the history of particular white women — not all white women — but particular white women, who have from the very beginning, pertaining to the enslavement of African people, accused black males of sexual assault without any proof whatsoever, no proof, anywhere on the face of the Earth.”
Camille also compared her husband’s case to the 1921 riots in Tulsa, Oklahoma. “That was another case of a [white] female making a claim of sexual assault claim against a black male, which we all know if we know about the Tulsa, Oklahoma, riots.”
Cosby is serving a three- to 10-year sentence after being found guilty of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman in 2004.
