TORY LANEZ: Declines Plea Deal

Written by on November 5, 2021

Rolling Stone reports that Tory Lanez will go to trial over allegedly shooting Megan Thee Stallion.

He was previously in talks about some sort of a plea deal in his felony assault case, but didn’t manage to reach an agreement before (Wednesday) deadline. He’s now due in court next month on December 14th for a preliminary hearing. The Deputy District Attorney Kathy Ta indicated that the hearing is expected to include around an hour and a half of testimony.

He’s facing charges for assault with a semiautomatic weapon and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. If convicted, he faces up to 22 years and eight months in prison.

Tory reacted to the news via Twitter, where he wrote, “The wording of this is amazingly inaccurate… I wasn’t unable to do anything. They offered what they offered so I wouldn’t go to trial and I declined. It’s very simple… And no I will not be giving any live testimony, please report real news and accurate facts.” He followed that up with, “Truly been staying out the way and becoming more of a positive person to myself and others… And allow me to continue. That’s all I ask.”
