Rod Wave Arrested On Weapons Charges

An investigation into an Easter Sunday shooting that injured four led to the discovery of Rod Wave’s stash of weapons. The alleged shooters belong to a gang. They drove a car registered to Rod Wave and rent homes that he owns. (XXL)
The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said they arrested Rod Wave in an adjacent county “after fleeing police” and under the assumption that he was a “convicted felon” with gang affiliation. His booking photo lists Rod Wave’s height as 5-foot-6. His weight is supposedly 350 pounds.
“Rod was arrested and detained with absolutely no evidence of wrongdoing,” attorneys Bradford Cohen and Mark Rankin wrote on Instagram. “The police claimed he was a felon in possession of ammunition. Not only was he not in possession of ammunition, a basic check of public records would have easily demonstrated to the police that he was not a convicted felon. The prosecutor and the judge immediately agreed that the evidence did not support the charge and set him free the same day.” (Variety)
Hot Takes:
- Instead of trying to “Fight The Feeling” he “fought” the charges.
- Was it was too much of a coincidence that the police forgot to thoroughly investigate?
- You know he’s an emotional rapper so prepare for new music, hopefully this time without an unauthorized sample. But this new look at Rod has me guessing that he probably doesn’t care either way.
