LIZZO: Postmates Driver Sues for Defamation

Written by on November 18, 2019

Lizzo faces another legal battle. The Postmates driver she accused of eating her food has sued for defamation.

Over the summer, Lizzo tweeted a complaint to the food delivery service, (quote) “Hey @Postmates this girl Tiffany W. stole my food. She lucky I don’t fight no more.”

Tiffany Wells does still fight — especially because Lizzo shared her photo on social media. Tiffany was forced to quit her Postmates job due to threats. Her lawsuit cites how she’s “now living with constant fear, anxiety, and humiliation.” Wells claimed she made the delivery, but the customer named “Bonnie V.” never met her at the designated spot at Boston’s Revere Hotel. Tiffany’s calls to “Bonnie V” went unanswered. Postmates allows the driver to leave after waiting for five minutes.

Lizzo deleted her tweet and admitted her mistake, (quote) “I apologize for putting that girl on blast. Imma really be more responsible with my use of social media and check my petty and my pride at the door.” (NBC News)
