Instagram has now cloaked “likes” in seven countries. Initial tests in Canada proved fruitful. Followers can “like” posts and view the running tally. The total is not visible to the owner. This week, Instagram expanded the experimental program to Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, Italy, Brazil and Japan. There’s increasing research to show that the pressure to seek approval on social media negatively impacts a person’s mental health. (The Wrap)
